Foresters play a critical role in managing our natural resources. They take care of our forests so our forests can take care of us.
Our forestry program is ranked as one of the best in the world. Majors choose one of three areas to focus on: landscape process, management or operations. And when they graduate, they get jobs, often with endless opportunities to work outside. Some graduates go on to harvest timber to make products the whole world uses and enjoys. Other become professional pyromaniacs by specializing in fire management.

You can get involved in research the minute you step on campus. There are a wide range of options available. Students who take advantage of opportunities to work in the field or the lab under the careful eye and collaborative hand of our expert researchers are competitive in the job market and on graduate school applications.
We’re building you an awesome new place to learn, study and grow. Construction of the Oregon Forest Science Complex is underway at Oregon State in Corvallis and will be completed in 2018. The complex will include a new Peavy Hall and the A.A. “Red” Emmerson Advanced Wood Products Laboratory.
