Forest Engineering and
FE/CE Dual Degree

Learn outdoors. Work outdoors. Make an impact.

Forest Engineering majors and students in the five-year, dual degree Forest Engineering/Civil Engineering program have a leg up in the job market. Graduates of these programs can work in rural or urban settings; outside or inside; on forests, roads, bridges or transportation systems. We believe that every problem is a challenge; every challenge is an opportunity and these programs offer an amazing opportunity for students who want to execute solutions to complicated forest, natural resource and civil engineering problems while also understanding the biological needs of the forest.

"My friends in other majors always complain about their labs because they are long and involve a lot of standing in one place for hours on end. In the forest engineering degree program, labs are something I look forward to. They usually involve driving out to Peavy Arboretum, hiking around and learning about the forest, its resources and how to use tools and instruments. Being outside makes me excited to learn."
